Evidence that is relatable to a jury and informative to your chain of command

In the past few years there has been a cultural shift towards visual storytelling and instant gratification. Video satisfies the modern appetite for quick, impactful, and easily digestible content. It aligns with the fast-paced lifestyle of today’s society, where people often prefer to watch a short video than listen to a lengthy description or sort through multiple photographs.

Now, using drones and their stabilized high-resolution cameras, capturing video has been practically reinvented into a new medium for law enforcement to explore. This technology has made it easier and more affordable than ever to create high quality content.

If we can understand how the modern public consumes information, this can be recreated at a crime scene, and presented to a jury in a way that they are used to consuming information and will quickly understand. To do this we must embrace the cinematography techniques that entertainers utilize to speak to the jury because it is what they are comfortable with and also what they expect.

Drones, or unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs), have emerged as a powerful asset in the field of crime scene documentation. These versatile devices can capture high-resolution aerial imagery and videos, providing a comprehensive overview of crime scenes that would be challenging to achieve through traditional means. By flying over an area, drones can document evidence from multiple angles, all while minimizing the risk of contamination and preserving the integrity of the evidence.
